Important Tips On How To Become A Successful Rapper

1. Create Good Music For Your Target Audience

Its been said that marketing is your best friend, you can have the hottest club song in the world but if your not targeting the right audience it won't matter...

The music has to have real emotions to affect an real audience... if you are making music that you don't feel, and don't move your head to.. chances are no one else will like it if you don't. A lot of artist try to force a certain sound and they end up boring themselves... not the way to go!!!!!!!!!

2. Control Your Social Media Or Die

Control your social media or die... Its kind of crazy to think about how most of you say your artist but when i go down your timeline all i see is memes, worldstar hip hop videos, hood fights, etc.. being shared... why don't you share more about your self ? and your music... an artist has to be professional... anything you post can impact you in a negative way now or years down the line, be-careful what you post...

3. Your Music Website or EPK Is Your Headquarters

Build an website for your fans, keep them updated with everything you have coming, and also put a streaming tab of your songs/albums on your site... you can always run ads on your site also to earn a little bit of income... build a following on social media and direct them to your website... leave your website link in all your profiles bio..

4. Network With Big Rappers, Producers, etc...

The more people you network with, the more chances of success you have.. If you run into a big time producer who likes your work, he/she maybe able to work with you even if your budget is not right...

REMEMBER> you are a new artist, you are not some big shot, there is plenty fish in the water, you must talk to everyone like they are bigger then you cause they most likely are!!! don't burn your bridges...

5. NOW HAVE FUN AND BE YOUR SELF

We all know, your favorite artist are people you feel are different from everyone else. If you want to make club music or mainstream music good luck, however that own't build a fan base... they will just build people who like you cause your making good songs based on money, sex, drugs, etc... once you stop making great club hits, etc.. those fans will never look your way again. Now if you make music people like and is different you will have real fans... Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SHOULD I MOVE TO LA OR NYC FOR MY MUSIC CAREER: Malko Realiity

SHOULD I MOVE TO LA OR NYC FOR MY MUSIC CAREER: Malko Realiity 0

Is it a good idea to go to LA or NYC to chase my dreams?

Image result for los angeles vs nyc

"I want to be an artist but my city doesn't support me, no one ever supports in this city they all just hate"

REPLY: I'm sorry to break it to you its like that every where you go...

Here are some things to consider before moving to a major city to chase your dreams.

1. You will need to find a job, and another... and... another and a brother and sister......

Making music is a full time job in its self, going to LA or NYC you will be forced to spend every single minute of the day hustling or you will end up in someones basement eating leftover noodles to survive.

Only 15 percent of artist in NYC for example make a living, these are top tier at least 50 paid shows a year artist... There is some artist in NYC or LA that aren't rich and still do what they do but those people usually have a family they can bunk with or ask for help when they need. This blog is referring to people who don't know anybody!!!

When Bhandari and co-author Jonathan Melber did research for their 2009 book "ART/WORK: Everything You Need to Know (and Do) As You Pursue Your Art Career," they found that artists, on average, earned about $10,000 a year after taxes.

That income level, she said, hasn't changed much in the last six years.

So there you have it a as far as financially, you are better off staying a small town perfecting your craft first, also remember when you go to NYC or LA you still need to get popping online. That is the number one thing to realize, your not going to go to LA or NYC and just throw a mixtape in the air and have everyone fight over that "HOT FIRE"... You will spend most of your time on a laptop regardless... Back in the 90s it was better to be in LA OR NYC but its 2016...

2. Studio

Image result for rappers be like

This will become your reality when you see how much good radios in big cities full of "aspiring artist" charge... No hate your better off doing this then paying 1500 dollars a month for 3 sessions...

3. You don't "Take Off" as soon as your plane lands

Many artists really think that soon as they hit Hollywood its a rap, "we on cuh straight to the top" well I'm here to tell you without hard work and dedication you won't get anywhere, remember drive and determination is a form of thinking educated people achieve threw out the years. You have no idea how much guys hit me up saying "my shit so fire man soon as I hit NYC the whole city is mine" and boy I tell you there music is complete trash in every aspect of the word... Poor quality, stolen beat, no flow & delivery... I don't mean to be rude but a lot of people think they are dedicated and driving but when they find out what it takes to make it they break within a few days... I mean like you have to be reasonable and know when your ready for such a big move if your going to make it. A lot of time's we think we are better than we actually are in something when we are not, keep a few real friends around you to stop you from making poor decisions. Sometimes the grass is never greener on the other side....

4. Have you truly accomplished everything you can as an artist in your hometown?

Image result for rappers be like

If you are not moving your locals with your music, people in NYC and LA will eat you alive.... Every year 100,000 people go to LA/NYC to chase their dreams and every year 100,000 people leave LA/NYC cause they failed at their dreams. If you want to move cause you don't enjoy your city and we have all been there, but stop following an old model of success. We have the internet that is why most artist making it these days don't come from such big cities no more, they used the internet to get popping. Another thing is to understand even when your city doesn't like your music doesn't mean your wack, you just got to market online...

BONUS

Going to major cities means there is more people, which means more like minded people, which means you may meet somebody who can do something for you. This is the one thing that is a benefit. Once again these people will not work with you for FREE. Meeting someone important in LA/NYC can cost you $$$$$35k just for a appointment, just to TALK TO THEM. Ya!!!! its that wild out there.

CONCLUSION

After reading this don't let anyone tell you what to do, this is advice. As someone who has traveled a lot I can tell you due to the internet almost every city you go to will be the same, pop culture don't change no where. Every city, state, and country gets their music online. You can live in a basement on the moon and accomplish more than someone who lives in NYC/LA if you have good promotion techniques online. Most of these artist in today's world wouldn't be anything without the internet. Which is a gift and curse. we hear a lot of garbage music but guess what? No one can put you on but you, you have the tools to put your self on and that is all... GOOD LUCK!!!!

7 Ways To Promote Music By Malko Realiity

7 Ways To Promote Music By Malko Realiity 1

So you've set up your SoundCloud or Youtube page, put out an song or album, and announced to all your social media that you've released the greatest track on earth.

But, no one seems to be paying attention to your music... Is this because you aren't any good? or because the over saturation of the music game.

Anybody with a laptop can just hop on the music train and put out something online. This is an gift and curse.

Its really easy to say you want to be a rapper but it is actually very difficult to be one...

Most artist look around in the industry and see all these "wack artist" making it big and you wonder to yourself what it takes to make it big??

Its a great day for you... here are some ways you can assure your self an higher percentage of success..

1. GET SOME REAL FRIENDS

Everyone who is your friend usually tells you your "dope" "Fire" etc.. etc.. but you will not get far if you keep the fakes around who aren't giving you honest criticism.

You need real feedback! Its totally fine to get feedback you don't want to hear...Please don't be that artist that thinks everyone is hating on him/her. IF everyone keeps saying the same thing about your music then its probably true...

Good music is the first step to getting heard. Don't overlook that.

2. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE LIKE EVERYONE

You noticed everyone who is pursuing a music career does the same thing? release a song and spam? well that won't get you a career and that doesn't differentiate you!

I one day dream of a world when people realize something they are doing isn't working... I see the same guys on my FB post the same links over the years and I'm thinking to my self where has that got them?

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me, "My name rings bells in the streets I got that heat" then I send me your links, I check that they only got 5 followers on soundcloud..

Most artist are too hard headed to give advice, the ones that listen make it far.

If every artist is simply posting on social media, and none of them are making any progress, what on earth makes someone think they'll have different success?

3. FOLLOW THE BLUEPRINT

Research! lLook at recent success stories and see what those artist did, depending on the time/era mimicking that can work...

Everyone is different but its ok to copy someones successful plan and apply to yours its a copy cat league..

Its more like think like successful artist, but you don't have to copy them...

4. WHY DON'T ARTISTS INVEST IN SMM?

Ever heard of SMM? Social media marketing and SEO

Probably not too much. SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is about optimizing your website to rank for certain keywords that people type in.

Once your site ranks higher on google, you get more traffic to your music, blog, album release, etc.

WHY WOULD SOMEONE PASS UP FREE WEBSITE TRAFFIC?

Because they aren't even smart enough to know what it is...

This may sound harsh, but don't be another stupid artist. "There are already enough people who don't take the time to educate themselves on advanced music marketing techniques, and it shows by their lack of income."

5. SEND YOUR MUSIC TO PROMOTERS

Send your links to promoters, if they like your music they may work with you and get you some shows possibly. Promoters do charge however the right promoter can do magic for your music..

6. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WEEKLY BUDGET, YOU'RE WAYYYY BEHIND

This is the worst topic to bring up, no one has to admit they need to invest...

There is millions of other people doing what you are, if they are investing in professional quality videos, beats, mixing etc... they WILL WIN...

No matter how good you are, you have to market your self.... investing is the key!!! if you don't invest in your self NO ONE will...

7. PATIENCE

You don't need to be that 55 year old rapper who still thinks his time will come but, you need to make moves, and watch results, document and repeat that process...

This is a great organic growth strategy!
